It is a common misconception that all ”Michigan courts are closed."  That is not true.  While Michigan courts are closed for "foot traffic," you might be surprised to learn how much court business is taking place during the COVID-19 crisis.

Work is getting done. This unprecedented time has sparked innovation and work-arounds. Some local courts are conducting hearings (and even finalizing pending divorce cases) using the Zoom app and other technology.  Many filings are taking place electronically and via U. S. mail.
